Trainee Interpersonal Therapist (IPT) and Trainee Person Centered Experiential Counsellor for Depression (PCE-CFD), Band 6

The South Staffordshire IAPT Teams provide a service for people experiencing mild to moderate mental health problems, operating predominantly within steps 1- 4 of the Stepped Care Model. Our teams are committed to continuing clinical training/development, supervision and support for all therapists. The service has been a pathfinder for several developments in IAPT service delivery. Therefore we have a proven track record for quality and research. Our friendly teams are committed to promoting the wellbeing of our workers, as well as our clients. As a Centre for research as well as clinical practice, we work in partnership with Staffordshire and Keele Universities.

Our services are expanding so we are looking to add four full time Trainee Interpersonal Therapists and four full time Trainee Counsellor’s to join our Stafford and Burton Wellbeing Services and upon successful completion of the courses will be offered a permanent position. This is an excellent opportunity for those committed to training and working within an IAPT Service at Step 3 of the Stepped Care Model. This will involve you providing assessments and NICE approved therapies across the locality, including face to face and video conferencing sessions by working flexibly to meet the service needs.

We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate some existing knowledge and experience of using Person Centred Counselling for treating Depression. If you would like to specialise further in this area, have two years’ experience post Counselling Qualification of working within adult Mental Health Services including having a core profession, registration with a core professional body and are willing to train in IPT or Counselling for Depression this would be an excellent opportunity for you.
