Due to increased workload, we are looking for a Permanent Works Design Co-ordinator who will join a dynamic, innovative, focused and engaged team, tackling an increase in workload from a variety of key clients, including the Environment Agency, Highways England, local authorities and private

As a result of design and build civil engineering schemes now becoming more common, coupled with our projected workload, we are seeking a **Permanent works** **Design Co-ordinator** to strengthen our busy design management team.

**Main Duties include**:
Proactively managing a design team which may include Consultants and/or specialist designers.

Attending meetings with clients, including presenting, and discussing design ideas and solutions.

Preparation of design documents, briefs, reports, and management plans.

Development and management of design programmes.

Reviewing design documents for compliance with scheme requirements, utilising gained knowledge and experience to advise on buildability and value engineering opportunities.

**We’re after someone with**:
Good collaborative communication skills

Ideally an engineering background which allows them to envisage how schemes are built.

A liking for detail.

Programming software skills.

Awareness of applicable CDM Regs requirements.

An understanding of the need to work to accepted design processes, procedures, guidance, codes and standards.

A general understanding of common construction specifications.

Management skills to encourage designers to provide on time, right first time, solutions.
