Catering Supervisor

This is a new role in our established SME for a Hospitality & Catering Supervisor for our licensed café and catering operations at The National Archives. The setting is currently open daytimes Mondays to Saturday plus one Sunday a month with very occasional bespoke evening events. The position is full-time (hours and days unfixed) but we expect that a minimum of 40 hours a week will be required by the role. The job entails working closely with the Catering Operations Manager in all aspects of the management and delivery of our operations in our kitchens & cafes at The National Archives. You will assist in the direct supervision and direction of a team of 5 general catering & kitchen staff currently; this team is expected to carefully expand to 8 in coming months as The National Archives starts to get ‘back to normal’.
You will be based at The National Archives. Duties are expected to include (but not limited to)
- Smooth operation of the Café in the absence of the line Manager
- Supervise the team on a day-to-day basis
- Coordinating the team to meet the demands of service
- Support in the provision of catering for functions
- Adhere to all food hygiene & safety standards
- Guest service
- Cash handling
