**Accounts Assistant**

G.A.P. Convenience Distribution Ltd. is best known as a trusted supplier to garage forecourts and convenience stores across the Northwest. Based from our purpose-built warehouse and distribution centre on the outskirts of Preston, we also have a successful ecommerce business selling toys, supplies and greeting cards as well as a marine supply company that forms part of our ecommerce business.

**About the Role**

As an Accounts Assistant you will perform a range of general clerical, accounting and bookkeeping support functions within our organisation.

**Here’s What You Can Expect to be Doing**

The main duties will include but not limited to the following:

- Monitoring customer accounts
- Setting up new customer accounts
- Processing all types of customer payments
- Processing direct debit payments
- Producing monthly statements
- Performing all necessary accounting reconciliations
- Credit Control
- Updating, verifying and maintaining accounting records.
- General administration tasks
- Performing all necessary accounting reconciliations
- Dealing with customer queries
- Ad hoc task as required to assist the growth of the company

**A Few Things About You**
- 4 GCSE’s with grades A - C or 5 - 9 including Maths and English
- Previous accounts experience
- Excellent numeracy skills
- Willingness to learn
- MS office knowledge (especially Excel)
- To be able to work on own initiative
- Good attention to detail
- Able to work effectively as part of a team, providing cover where necessary
- Able to plan and organise workload and continuously meet deadlines
- Able to problem-solve
- Customer service orientation
- Good communication skills including over the phone
