Royal Tunbridge Wells, United Kingdom Hospice in the Weald Full time

**Family Support Worker - Children and Young People Service**

**Location - **Based at Hospice in the Weald Pembury and across various sites within Kent and East Sussex

**Salary - £26,026**

**Working Hours - **Full-Time 37.5hrs with the potential to work hours across 7 days to meet Service needs.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a well-experienced professional to join our newly developed Children and Young People Service as a family support worker.

Working alongside our Specialist Children’s Nurses and Children’s Support Workers, you will engage with siblings, parents, and caregivers of children living with a life-limiting condition or illness and offer emotional and practical advice, listening support, group work, and activities either within the Hospice or community settings.

Experience in working with children with complex medical needs would be desirable but not essential. A strong understanding of children’s Safeguarding is required.

Some knowledge or experience of children’s palliative care or of working with grief and loss would also be valuable.

It would be best if you were confident in managing and prioritizing a small caseload and working in a multi-disciplinary partnership with team colleagues across the Hospice. You will be well supported and receive regular supervision in practice to develop your skills effectively.

Hospice in the Weald offers a rewarding work environment, a generous pension, and flexible working hours.

If you feel that you can bring the essential requirements to this post and are interested in finding out more before applying, please get in touch with John Adams (Specialist Social Worker) or Fiona Ashmore (Lead Nurse) for an informal discussion on 01892 820515.

Benefits include free parking and a generous holiday allowance with the ability to buy and sell additional holidays.

Pay: £26,026.00 per year

Work Location: In person

Application deadline: 09/10/2024
