**Logistics Planner**
**Staines**
**Logistics Planner required by a leading Fortune 500 brand and one of the UK’s leading distributors of land fuels**

World Fuel Services, the parent company of some of the UK’s most renowned UK land fuel brands including Watson Fuel, Linton Fuel Oil and Hall Fuels, currently requires a Logistics Planner to join its rapidly expanding UK land business.

The Logistics Planner will be responsible for managing the most effective routes in terms of cost and vehicle utilisation for a fleet of articulated Lorries.

The role holder will work closely with the customer services, sales and supply teams to ensure fuel deliveries are made to customers on time and in the most cost effective and efficient way.

Key responsibilities:

- Analyse customer demand and assign the most optimal route to deliver product to client site.
- Planning UK wide supply routes.
- Managing transportation costs and vehicle utilisation through scheduling of internal and external vehicles.
- Liaison with internal sales and supply/pricing teams to match supply with demand.
- Liaison and relationship management with internal and external transport providers
- Forming potential solutions to transport problems
- Evaluating the benefits and costs of different supply routes
- Staying up to date with current fleet inventory and deploying efficiently and effectively
- Regularly monitor and analyse transport costs and volume.
- The Individual:

- Work experience gained in a vehicle planning/routing capacity is essential.
- Strong analytical skills and numerate ability are essential.
- Analytical work experience is essential.
- Strong written and oral communication skills are important.
- Strong knowledge and awareness of UK geography is essential.
- Knowledge of UK logistics industry related legislation is essential such as the Working Time Directive.
- Experience gained with a vehicle routing system is desirable.
- Strong IT skills and MS Office suite experience is essential.
