Financial Controller

This is a Financial Controller role partnering the senior leadership team in driving improved data analysis, financialreporting and increasing profitability.

**The Opportunity**

The role will require taking a forward-planning approach to the company’s financial processes and accounts. There will be a particular emphasis on the commercial opportunities that are believed to be available from improved data analysis and from workingclosely with the Senior Leadership Team and the sales, commercial and technical departments ensuring accurate financial reporting, transparency, and accountability throughout.
- Design, operation and development of financial controls and reporting process.
- Budgeting, financial planning and variance reporting.
- Managing the finances of a mid-market SME with particular emphasis on profitability, cash flow, foreign exchange planning.
- Statutory reporting including VAT returns, payroll, annual accounts, and liaison with external professional advisers.
- Reviewing, assisting and, where necessary, changing the current management accounting activities
- Support month-end and year-end close process.
- Provision and interrogation of profitability analysis on a weekly basis.
- Liaising with sales, commercial and technical colleagues to ensure strong financial management of the business's contracts.

What we are looking for...
- Possess commercial acumen and be prepared to challenge and improve existing processes.
- Ability to lead teams and communicate effectively.
- Ability to prioritise, work autonomously and be proactive.
- Hold an accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
