Axcis Education are proudly working with a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) local to the Stoke on Trent area. PRUs are a type of school that caters for children who aren’t able to attend a mainstream school due to either special education requirements or social, emotional & mental health needs. You will be supporting Key Stages 3 & 4 and be required to provide 1:1 support for certain individuals.

**Job Description**:

- Provide support & guidance to children - you will act as a mentor and be a

positive role model to help the children build resilience & develop vital life

skills.
- Assist teaching staff to tailor support plans for individual students
- Implement behaviour management strategies to address challenging

behaviour.
- Be able to de-escalate volatile situations & promote best practice

What you need to apply:

- Valid enhanced DBS - or be willing to obtain for one
- Minimum of 2 good references

Pay:

- From £87.04 per day - can vary depending on experience

Hours:

- Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm

The school has a strong team of permanent staff who can support agency so having experience in a PRU is not essential. This position is initially temporary however there would be view of you to go permanent depending on performance.
