A position has arisen in our bar & restaurant for a Kitchen assistant (Inc. food services/pot wash).

Duties involve serving food to customers, collecting empty plates/glasses, and preparing certain food items. You will also be expected to roll your sleeves up and jump into the pot wash area, which will involve washing up plates, pots, and pans. The job may also involve deep cleaning on certain days.

The hours involved in this vacancy are between **13.5 to 16 + hours per week.**

The rota will be fixed as follows;
- **Monday 3:45 - 8:30 / 9:30 pm**:

- **Thursday 5:00 pm to 9:00 / 10 pm**:

- **Saturday 5:00 pm to 9:30 / 10 pm**

Additional shifts may be available during busy times and to cover sickness and annual leave for other team members.

The job involves;
- Food preparation (cutting up salads/vegetables)
- Serving food to customers
- Cooking pub grub meals - chips, jacket potatoes etc.
- Pot wash (Washing up - by hand and by using the dishwasher)
- General cleaning of the kitchen and restaurant areas
- Assisting other staff members where necessary (Chefs)
- Stock control
- Helping bar staff when required to deliver drinks to customers
- You will be expected to work alongside our other departments as a team to ensure customers have a great experience when visiting The Vine.

Ideally, you will;
- Have good customer services skills
- Be able to work as part of a small team
- Have a good understanding of food hygiene and health and safety practices
- Be punctual and reliable

It would help if you were aged over 18 for this vacancy - to comply with UK licensing laws.

Please note that the National minimum wage rate will be applicable for your age if you successfully get the position advertised. The current rate advertised applies to 23-year-olds and over.

**Job Type**: Permanent

Pay: £11.44 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
