Purpose of the Job:
?
Key Accountabilities:

- Develop manufacturing processes for new products and ensuring full required capability
- Working withing the NPI gated system to deliver key manufacturing requirements at each stage of product development
- Work closely with the design team whilst using key design for manufacture and assembly principles.
- ?Liaise with manufacturing operations and research and development to solve problems.
- Undertake technology transfer to manufacturing Licensee's
- Organise and support prototype manufacture of our products
- Interface with Supplier Quality, Internal Quality, Test and Systems.
- Assist in the specification, procurement and commissioning of new equipment and tooling.
- Engage in the handover of new products to series manufacturing sites.
- Liaise with research & development and Manufacturing Operations to solve problems/issues related to product development.
- Creation and editing of production paperwork including Work Instructions, PFMEA's, Process Specifications, Process Flows and Control Plans.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
Essential
?
- Preferred BEng/Meng Mechanical and or Manufacturing Engineering or relevant field
- Very hands on with the process and encouraging the team to embrace this philosophy
- Minimum of 5 years proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in serial production or NPI
- Ideally experienced in deposition technologies and/or thermal processing and/or laser technologies
- 6s/Lean trained and daily user of these techniques
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written
- Experience in production documentation including PFMEA & work instructions
- Willing to travel abroad

Desirable
- Experience working within NPI projects
- Manufacturing Methods and Procedures
- Technical Understanding
- Safety Management
- Advanced MS Office skills and preferably in statistical analysis software also
- Experience working within mid to high volume manufacture although niche volumes are also valuable.
- Experience of working within quality frameworks such as ISO9001, IATF16949 etc.
- Experience in problem solving methodology, using tools such as 8D & Ishikawa.
- Experience in bill of process and value stream mapping
- Ability to work closely with production technicians to train and fine tune processes.
- Ability to produce clear and concise reports to summarise work packages.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability and confidence to work in a fast-paced organisation
