Are you an experienced transport planner looking for a position that you can really make a difference in? Do you like the idea of joining the transport planning team on a brand-new key contract for one of the biggest, fastest-growing names in logistics? We are looking for someone like you. We’re currently recruiting for a Transport Planner to be based at our customer site in Ketton, As part of this busy transport operation, you’ll ensure the timely and safe dispatch of drivers across Monday - Friday. With a team of drivers and units, this team will grow as the site develops.

**Pay, benefits and more**:
We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £30,000 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts as well as a cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other perks.

**What you’ll do on a typical day**:

- To cost effectively plan and dispatch routes where required to achieve contractual delivery times
- Distribute volume to Core Fleet and Subcontract Haulier Partners
- To liaise with external suppliers to ensure the effective use of hire vehicles / sub-contractors minimising the cost impact to the business
- Ensures that appropriate communication methods are used to provide information to both internal and external customers as required e.g. debrief of drivers, dealing with customer issues etc.
- Ensure that all vehicle inspections/MOT/Services are planned and completed.
- To ensure that all traffic planning activity is undertaken in line with legislative requirements e.g. RTR
- To ensure compliance with Company Health & Safety requirements highlighting any concerns to line management

**What you need to succeed at XPO**:

- Experience of planning and managing a complex transport environment
- Proven experience within transport and a good understanding of compliance and driver hours
- Experience of WTS transport planning system (Desirable)
- Experience in telematics operating systems [Data Driven current provider] (Desirable)
- Thrive under pressure within a challenging environment and solve complex problems
