An exciting opportunity has arisen to work for the GMMH Addictions Service. We provide a range of services for people with substance misuse issues through our Achieve partnership in the community (across the boroughs of Bury, Bolton, Salford and Trafford). We are looking to recruit a Recovery Coach to join our Psychosocial Intervention Team within Achieve services. Working as a PSI Recovery Coach you will provide evidenced based structured group work and one to one interventions. The team is supported by our clinical psychologist, and you will receive regular clinical supervision. We work closely with the trauma informed team and trauma informed CBT therapist.

The post offered is a full time 5 days per week primarily based at Trafford community venues but will be required to work across the wider BBST footprint.

The post holder should be able to demonstrate understanding and knowledge of the issues affecting substance users and potential barriers to accessing addictions services.

The post holder will have knowledge of the recovery agenda, demonstrate excellent communication skills with service users, their families and significant others by using motivational and CBT approaches to enable our service users to achieve their goals and assist in attaining and maintaining their recovery

Delivering face to face and virtual evidenced based Psychosocial Interventions, on 1:1 and structured group work basis.

In addition to supporting the PSI team the post holder will provide support to the wider service and Recovery Coordinator’s in responding to unplanned presentations and contact with carers and loved ones. The Post holder must have experience of facilitating group work and understand emerging technologies to respond to changes in services delivery.

- To undertake needs led assessments of people with substance misuse problems that require additional support to address their social needs.
- To inform recovery action plans in consultation with service users and their recovery coordinator that address their social needs.
- To implement, monitor and review a range of interventions in relation to social needs.
- To deliver evidence based psychosocial interventions in a group work setting.
- To deliver evidence based psychosocial interventions on a 1:1 basis
- To support and motivate service users to attend and take part in appointments/activities which promote their recovery.
- To advocate for service users where appropriate to promote recovery.
- To work in partnership with other professionals/agencies to ensure service user needs are met.
- To support service users to engage with mutual aid/self-help support groups and services to help them in recovery journey and promote independence.
- To involve families and carers where appropriate.
