**Job Purpose**

Reporting into the Accounts Payable Supervisor. This role will assist the Accounts Payable Supervisor in providing a professional centralised service for the UK and International business.

**Principal Responsibilities**
First point of contact for team prior to escalation to Accounts Payable Supervisor
- Assist Accounts Payable Supervisor in recruitment & training.
- Assist Accounts Payable Supervisor, planning resource and account allocation across the team with team training, coaching and development.
- Develop knowledge to support submission of AP month end reconciliations.
- Assist supervisors with the review and identification of process improvements.
- Processing & approval of UK and International payments to meet supplier payment terms.
- Support team to improve VIM first time match rate through education, reporting and process changes.
- Authorisation & release of blocked invoices for payment
- Validation and approval of new vendors and bank account changes.
- Internal control compliance
- Process a high volume of both foreign and sterling UK invoices against a SAP purchase order system for 7 different manufacturing sites.
- Transact prompt payments of circa £1bn to over 2500 UK & International suppliers.
- Manage & resolve invoice queries from initiation to final resolution.
- Plan & organise workload to meet supplier payment terms.
- Reconciliation of supplier statements
- Liaison at all levels both internally and externally including senior management.
- Issue 121 minutes

**Experience Needed**
- Comprehensive understanding of Accounts Payable controls & procedures.
- SAP knowledge is desired
- Knowledge of Foods & Drinks sector industries would be an advantage.
- GCSE standard A to C in Maths and English or NVQ equivalent
- Highly numerate.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Good organisation skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Motivated individual who can adapt to change.
- Ability to work individually and effectively as part of a team within a centralised accounts function
