Hexcel is currently seeking a Process Specialist for our Duxford, UK location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

- Develop methods for responding to process variability and a consistent rational to permanently correct, document and implement them.
- To identify and implement process improvements to reduce manufacturing costs, improve product quality, at the same time reviewing the safety requirements.
- To introduce new products to the factory with a view towards optimisation of the process.
- To prepare standard data manuals for the preparation and maintenance of manufacturing standards. This allows the generation of bills of materials and routing for the factory manufactured products and maintenance of this part of the system.
- Liaise with both suppliers and customers (internal and external) in order to establish requirements and assist in the solving of problems.
- To prepare and maintain plant operating instructions and to be involved in training.
- To prepare detailed equipment, acceptance and commissioning specifications for new and modified capital equipment and to validate performance prior to hand-over to Production.
- Liaise with other Hexcel sites (Europe and USA) to ensure best / consistent practices are used throughout the organisation.

Qualifications:

- The Process Specialist provides support for a wide range of manufacturing technologies and they should have a background which enables comprehension of both processes and equipment.
- Ideally, the job holder will be a technical graduate with experience in an appropriate manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience of problem solving in a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and tools (e.g. Six Sigma).
- Proven experience of data analysis and data driven problem solving.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, for effective dissemination of information and to different levels.
- Computer literacy. Proficient in the use of statistical software and Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, or equivalent software.
