Garden Maintenance

**Job Overview**

We are looking to hire a gardener (grounds maintenance operative) who is competent in carrying out regular gardening/grounds maintenance rounds as well as one-off site maintenance clearances. We operate across South East London and Essex, looking after a range of commercial sites.

We are looking for a reliable person who can prioritise their time on site to complete the most urgent jobs first, as not all sites require the same maintenance structure so time management is a priority.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, strimming, hedge trimming, weeding, shrub pruning, shrub bed maintenance, litter picking
- Operate power tools and hand tools effectively and safely
- Keep to all health and safety requirements
- Understanding of specific site rules
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and an eye for maintaining a neat and tidy outdoor environment
- Assist in site upkeep and grounds keeping duties, reporting any issues that may cause sites to be unsafe and untidy
- Keep records of van, tools and van stock on the appropriate check lists
- Knowledge of how to use 2 stroke machinery (strimmers and leaf blowers)
- Full UK driving licence

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in grounds maintenance or a related field
- Proficiency in using a variety of tools and equipment for grounds maintenance tasks
- PA1 & PA6 an advantage but not essential
- First aid at work an advantage but not essential
- Must be able to pass an enhanced DBS background check, due to the nature of our clients
- Training provided and access to a variety of extra training courses through eLearning

Pay: From £26,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
