**Overview**
These roles are of a supervisory nature and the purpose of the role is to ensure the needs of the child are met whilst safeguarding the child from any potential harm. This is based in the family centre, and the role requires you to support and assess their day to day lives. You will be required to appropriately write up formal observations and records which will make up some of the assessment of future care arrangements for children. Our families reside in the centre for 12 week assessments.
**The role will involve**:
- Dealing with a range of individual needs such as mental health and challenging behaviour.
- Safeguarding children and protecting them from any potential risk of harm.
- Reporting direct observations
- Creating a homely environment for children and families to thrive
- To guide, model and support parents to achieve the best outcomes for there child
- Contribute to the assessment process
- Be reliable and trustworthy
- Ability to be flexible, adaptable and embrace working cultures in our setting
- Have experience in this setting or similar.
- Have experience with children and young people or vulnerable adults.
- Have a caring and empathetic nature.
- Be able to be a supporting aid to the family whilst also observing objectively and accurately.
- You will be enthusiastic in your approach with children and be striving to deliver the highest quality of life as possible.
- Have some understanding of children’s developmental stages and milestones.
**Criteria for these roles are**:
- Child and Adult DBS - on the update service
- Previous Experience in a similar role
- NVQ Level 3 in childcare or equivalent
- References covering the last 3 years
