Job purpose:
To plan the McBride Europe Logistics network at both a strategic and tactical level, identifying challenges across the network and recommending actions for resolution to relevant stakeholders.
Update and balance the master plan for operations at the appropriate level of detail to drive operational and logistics activity. The plan should be balanced to minimise costs, maximise operational capability and create a platform for service delivery.
Your responsibilities will be:
- Create the group network master plan incorporating the divisional supply plans and make planning recommendations to minimise costs, maximise operational capability and create a platform for service delivery.
- Support the Logistics function through provision of short-term plans to maximise short term operational efficiencies whilst achieving service level targets. Where necessary respond to forecast volatility changes (production / sales fluctuations) and ensure both logistics and manufacturing are aligned on response to those changes.
- Lead the Network plan review creating group and divisional clarity on the key points of issue and providing clear recommendations for decision making.
- Support the Logistics function through provision of medium
- and long-term plans to guide achievement of strategic objectives.
- Support the divisional master planners through an iterative process to resolve points of operational conflict.
- Identify issues and costs associated with obsolete and slow-moving stock
- Support the business on stock reporting (cross-divisional)
- Maintain the weekly operational master plan (for example, filling, blow moulding and mixing or for Group WH&D where appropriate) covering the period from 13 weeks to the published schedule. Highlight constraints and recommend actions.
- Identify where finished goods anticipation stock is required and support Supply Chain Managers in the implementation.
- Support the Master Planner in maintaining the monthly operational master plan (filling, blow moulding and mixing or for Group WH&D where appropriate) covering the period from 24 months to 13 weeks. Highlight constraints and recommend actions.
- Support the finished goods safety stock setting process.
- Attend and support the weekly planning review deploying the final supply plan and describing the necessary trade-offs to the supporting functions.
Skills and education we are looking for:
- Ideally have experience of working with the broader Supply Chain Planning team
- High level of numeracy and a good level of literacy
- Strong system and analytical skills
- Ability to make decisions quickly based on the available facts
- Good knowledge of English language
