Senior Support Worker

The individuals we support are at the heart of all we do, we provide enabling support workers to people with learning disabilities, autism and other vulnerable adults which promotes their dignity, individuality, inclusion and the fulfilment of their potential.

**Key Duties**:
The role is about ensuring that high standards are maintained in the context of staffing, the resources, fabric of the buildings and the health and welfare of residents, to ensure conformity with Company expectations and CQC Standards for Quality and Safety.

An important element is the requirement to lead shifts, manage staff and effectively ensure that the site is safe and required support is provided to the staff team. At other times to act as a positive role in model and helping provide high quality support for all the residents.

To be responsible for ensuring that each residents’ specific needs are met, such as:

- Medical and dental attention
- Medication
- Personal hygiene
- Dietary requirements
- Religious observance
- Culturally significant activities

To provide leadership, guidance and management, communicating a clear sense of direction which staff understand and are able to relate to the aims and core values of the home.

To be responsible for the deployment and management of staff when required, including the devising and maintenance of rotas, covering staff shortfalls due to sickness.

**Key Skills/ Experience**:

- Excellent communication and the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels.
- Good written communication skills.
- Experience in leading a small staff team and supporting them to care for others, especially those with a learning disability either from family, employment or voluntary work.
- Health and Social Care Level 2 or 3 is essential. We offer recognised qualifications and will invest in developing you through a personal development plan.
