The UK is a world leader in Future Mobility, from connected and automated vehicles to battery giga-factories and securing the supply chain to delivering the vehicles of tomorrow.
As Deputy Head of Electric Vehicle Supply Chain, your team will focus on attracting inward investment into the future mobility sector specifically on electrification supply chain developments. This is central to the Prime Minister’s 10-point plan for a Green Industrial Revolution and there has never been a more exciting time to work in this cutting-edge area. The UK Government is mobilising £12 billion to create and support up to 250,000 highly-skilled green jobs in the UK. You will work in a fast-paced environment with DIT’s teams across the world, with colleagues from across government, and with public and private stakeholders from across the UK. You will lead your team (one Senior Executive Officer and one Higher Executive Officer) working alongside our Head of Automotive team (Grade 6), Technical expert (Grade 6), Deputy Head of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) (Grade 7) and R&D Expert (G7), to deliver work which will include:
- Onshoring inward investment projects in the zero emission vehicles supply chain
- Account managing priority businesses within the automotive supply chain
- Building relationships and working closely with a number of stakeholders, including the Investment Services Team, colleagues at Post, colleagues across Whitehall and within DIT’s own renewable energy teams
- Being part of the Automotive leadership team, setting examples for a team environment that is inclusive, diverse and open
- Leading investor missions to the UK
- Managing our presence at major events in the UK and overseas
- Developing communications and sector capability materials
You will be joining a high performing team working at the epicentre of the UK Government’s delivery of the personal mobility sector of the near future.
Team members are encouraged to seek out opportunities for personal development and training. There will be a need for UK and some overseas travel. The position offers flexibility to meet development needs across the range of behaviours in the Success Profile.
