**What will be your role in the company?**:
The role of Logistics Coordinator is to support and improve CAF Rail UK logistics operations, ensuring the stock and shipments are managed and maintained with high standards, supporting and implementing processes to accomplish with the company requirements.
Your daily duties will include:
- Manage local and international transports, coordinating with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers as required by projects operation. Create relevant documentation, track and update relevant stakeholders. Ensure compliance with UK governance & jurisdiction.
- Select and negotiate with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers for optimal pricing and service. Monitor the invoicing process, ensuring its aligned with budgetary constraints.
- Design & maintain CAF Rail UK logistics network, optimizing logistics operation for each project and/or depots.
- Act as the link between the Material Managers, Procurement and Stores and Logistics team to ensure materials are managed correctly following CAF Inventory policies.
- Supervise and manage when required the repair cycles for the depots following CAF standards
- Place orders on the system to pre-approved suppliers to complete the purchasing administrative process for Logistics and other depts as required. Update the system and relevant trackers as required.
- Participate in team meetings as required
- Participate and coordinate periodical stocktaking of materials.
- On occasion carry out other activities to assist the business requirements, including support of stores in other projects (locations)
- Report monthly KPI’s to the Head of Stores and Logistics as required
- Ensure compliance with all HSQE requirements
- Work as a team member of the Stores and Logistics department helping other areas as required
**What salary will you be paid for this role?**:
As a Real Living Wage Employer, we are proud to pay competitively at CAF. For this role you will be offered a salary in the region of £37,000 and £40,000 per annum.
**What will make you successful in this position?**:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- English language and Maths standard grade 3 or above (or equivalent).
- Full driving license
- Proven relevant experience in warehousing and logistics operations
- Proven relevant experience using an ERP System and computer skills.
- Medium-Advance Excel User (Macro’s, Pivot Tables, Formulas, Reports, etc)
- Clear communication skills
- Computer literate with experience of logistic and stock control systems
- Good numeracy, literacy, IT skills and attention to detail
- Be able to co-ordinate and organize logistics with key suppliers
- Flexibility and ability to work under own initiative
- Able to organise and prioritise work activities
- Able to plan work and actions plans to implement solutions
- Able to analyze and bring new processes and solutions to improve the performance of the operations in the best cost/effective
- Fluency in English; Spanish language skills are a plus given regular interactions with CAF Spain companies
