- Service provision may cover different hospital sites within Oxford and require lone working and travel between the team base, treatment, and meeting locations
- To work without direct supervision to agreed standards and following service protocols, with guidance from qualified physiotherapy staff.
- May participate in departmental research.

An exciting opportunity as arisen to join the Older Adult Mental health inpatient team as a Physiotherapy Technical Instructor,at the Whiteleaf Centre in Aylesbury. Amber ward is a 14 bedded inpatient unit which assesses and treats mainly people over the age of 65 who are experiencing acute organic and functional mental health problems.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and innovative professional, ideally from a physical health rehabilitation background, who has experience or wants to work with individuals with mental health problems. The individual must understand the impact of physical functioning on mental health rehabilitation, enablement and recovery.

- The post holder will be expected to support the ward-based multi-disciplinary team (MDT) by working closely with service users to achieve their physical health goals and facilitating opportunities to enhance their engagement in community-based physical health resources. Effective and efficient liaison with other teams and agencies will be essential to ensure collaborative working for the benefit of service users.

The post holder will also carry out physical health interventions prescribed by the Physiotherapist whilst supporting the ward team with liaison with the Mental health Physiotherapist.

The main aim of this exciting role is to focus on the physical health rehabilitation, engagement, and enablement to optimize the service users’ ability to live independently and enjoy a good quality of life.

We are looking for a flexible individual who will be available to cover shifts, including weekends. In return for your commitment we can provide a comprehensive induction and training package, annual updates and, clinical supervision.

You will have strong sense of responsibility and ownership as well as, willingness to learn and support development. You'll be able to work under pressure and lead activity groups under supervision of the physiotherapy team.
