Our client, a well established recycling company who have been trading for nearly 100 years, require a forward thinking experienced **Plant Supervisor** to effectively manage all personnel and processing operations ensuring that production and quality targets are satisfied, for their premises based in Tilbury.
You will be responsible for ensuring that employees are working safely and the plant housekeeping standards are maintained at all times, you will monitor all processing operations continuously looking for any areas that can be improved and ensure that all membersof the team are aware of what is expected of them.
You must ensure that the plant is run to maximum efficiency at all times, optimum output rates are achieved and any downtime is kept to a minimum. You will manage and motivate members of the team continuously and ensure that agency staff are inducted correctly,have all PPE and are working in a proper and safe manner. You will also deal with or report any personnel or disciplinary issues that occur within the team.
During your shift, you will be expected to carry out regular checks on plant m/c's, running speeds/flow rates, personnel, processed product, waste streams and safety. You will also ensure company SOP's and Work Instructions are adhered to at all times.
You must have a good knowledge of health and safety practices. You will hold an IOSH managing safely certificate, a first aid certificate, a fire awareness certificate and current FLT license.
Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workloads simultaneously and work well under pressure are essential.
This is a permanent role and you will be working on a shift pattern including days and nights which will include weekends and bank holidays, on a rotational basis.
