What you will be doing INDWC World Courier **Role Summary**: We’re hiring the Warehouse Operative to join our busy and fast growing Operations team at Feltham office. The Warehouse Operative Agent is responsible for processing all shipments that pass through the World Courier warehouse facility at LHR, securely, quick and efficiently whilst paying close attention to detail. Accurately recording all associated checks carried out throughout the shipment handling process. Storing all shipments correctly in appropriate temperature controlled areas. Ensuring the warehouse is kept clean and tidy at all times. Keep a close watch on stock levels and advise/order accordingly. General handling duties. Communicating with other departments to ensure shipment deadlines are met. **Duties & Responsibilities**: Responsible for receiving shipments, checking all aspects are correct using relevant paperwork. Including but not limited to: damage checks, piece count, shipper/consignee address and shipment details, aviation security status and documenting all of the above details via internal information systems or written paperwork. **Carrying out aviation security screening where applicable**: x-ray screening cargo where suitable to be tendered as "SPX cargo", hand search, visual check of Explosive Trace Detection as appropriate. Recording results/status of searches in World Courier I.T. systems. Once trained, partake in ongoing aviation security screening training to retain screener status. Following all World Courier procedures and ensuring a high attention to detail. Continuing to familiarise themselves with all updated SOPs via learning Portal and ongoing training. Prioritising tasks effectively in a time sensitive environment. Utilising all relevant World Courier I.T. systems to maintain a record of all shipments on hold, ensuring they are all stored within the correct temperature parameters and communicating the list to other departments. Carrying out ongoing checks on all shipments, replenishing dry ice and/or gel packs where necessary and recording all updates on to World Courier I.T. systems. Continuous liaison with the office and driving teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of all shipments. Internal and external telephone communication with other offices, departments, freight This role may also, from time to time include the following; Driving. Assisting drivers with delivery of consignments to freight sheds. Communication of relevant information, weight discrepancies, concerns regarding packaging etc. Labelling of shipments as per instructions from TMS. Operation / use of World Courier I.T. systems; TMS, OptiView, and the INET. Loading and unloading of vehicles, and utilising the correct equipment to do so. Performing a weekly stock check of packaging materials. Obtaining accurate weight and dimensions and recording this information in TMS. Internal communications with other UK departments. Ensure that the warehouse remains clean and tidy - inside and out - at all times. Replenishing dry ice and ensuring that clients/other WC offices are charged correctly for it. Replenishing gel packs correctly, paying attention to the packaging diagrams. Reporting any shipments that arrive into the Warehouse that may have been damaged in transit. Ensuring the premises are secure, by keeping shutters in place and challenging anyone without a valid World Courier I.D or visitors pass. Keeping the fire exits clear of obstructions. **Shift Pattern**: Night Shift: Monday-Friday: 20:00 - 06:00, with flexibility to work over the weekend (occasionally) What your background should look like **Knowledge & Skills**: Experience of working in a freight forwarding warehouse - ideally secure cargo Forklift trained Aviation Security X-Ray screener training and valid certification (preferable) High level of numeracy and I.T. skills High level of attention to detail Able to follow procedures & instructions Able to provide relevant information on request Good communication skills - verbally & written Possess a full clean UK driver’s licence, which has preferably been held for a minimum of two years. **Personal Attributes and Disposition**: Ability to work as part of a team and independently Self-motivated Remains Calm under pressure Flexible attitude - for working shifts and last-minute coverage High attention to detail Uses own initiative Able to prioritise workload Friendly & polite Dependable, reliable and trustworthy Physically fit and able to undertake the required tasks Presentable **What we offer**: **Basic Annual Salary**: £23,517 - £26,876 per annum **Shift Allowance**: £2,400 per annum **Annual Bonus Plan**: 5% ABP **Sign on bonus**: £1500 **Employee Benefits**: Pension scheme 20 days holiday allowance plus bank holidays.
