**Who Are We?**
Queens Quarter Housing Limited is a provider of accommodation and support services for single homeless clients and is based in the South Belfast area. We work with our stakeholders N.I.H.E and Supporting People to provide **D*ispersed **I**ntensively **M**anaged **E*mergency accommodation and support services for individuals with multi-complex needs. Utilising the multi-disciplinary approach to the provision of support we seek to promote positive and lasting outcomes for our Service Users as they work towards permanent resettlement in the community.
**What will I be Doing?**
As Project Support Worker you will provide low threshold/high tolerance support to homeless single adults presenting with multi-complex needs. You will assist, encourage and support all Service Users to promote their wellbeing, independence, safety and positive, healthy life choices.
**Part 1: Job Description**
1. In all your actions actively provide a Service User-centred approach; promote Service User safety, wellbeing and involvement in decision making to help achieve positive, healthy and practical solutions and life style choices aimed at achieving independent living.
2. Support Service Users to manage their physical, mental health and wellbeing through participating in the implementation of support plans which have been agreed with them.
3. Contribute to the assessment of all Service Users needs through daily monitoring of general wellbeing e.g. mood, behaviour, general appearance, personal care standards, state of accommodation. Recognise when to refer/escalate a situation to a member of management when appropriate.
4. Carry out welfare and fire and health & safety checks of all accommodations at regular intervals as prescribed by management, fully record all findings & report all problems & concerns & upload records to the computer system as required.
5. Cleaning & housekeeping as required to assist Service Users to maintain a safe and hygienic living environment & when accommodation is vacated in preparation for new Service Users.
6. Ensure that all relevant QQH policies, procedures, protocols and standards are read, understood and adhered to at all times to include; risk management requirements and protocols e.g. lone working, maintaining professional boundaries and strict adherence to Health and Safety requirements.
7. Implement, participate in, and adhere to QQH Service User referral and induction procedures.
8. Prompt and encourage Service Users to make regular Service Charge payments and record and receipt as necessary.
9. Competently assist in the co-ordination of Out-Of-Hours and Crash Referral Facilities.
10. Provide practical support to Service Users as required, some examples of which might include:
- Provide relevant advice in relation to personal safety, security and positive risk management.
- Build, promote and sustain community contacts.
- Proactively seek out opportunities in the community for the benefit of Service Users.
- Advocate for Service Users, as appropriate.
- Accompany and support Service Users on outreach activities as directed.
11. Ensure efficient and appropriate recording requirements with importance on accurate and timely completion e.g. Daily contact sheets, handover reports and ensure effective communication with assigned Case Managers.
12. Attend personal training and, in conjunction with senior staff, assist in the induction and training of new staff [including Bank Staff].
**Part 2: Person Specification**:
- Provide relevant right to work in the UK documentation
- Complete a satisfactory Enhanced AccessNI check
- Have good written and verbal communications skills
- Be computer literate
- Demonstrate willingness to train and develop as required.
- Two years’ experience of working within a similar or equivalent challenging environment
- Qualification in Health & Social Care, or working towards same.

**What types of contracts are available?**
**1. Permanent Full-Time**
Our permanent full-time work pattern is 36 hours per week - 3 x 12 hour shifts on a rotational basis covering days, nights and weekends.

**3. Bank/Casual Staff**
We wish to create a register of Bank Staff who can be called upon to cover short time business needs eg. holidays and other absences. Bank Staff may work 0.5, 1, 2 or 3 x 12 hour shifts in any week when they are available to do so.
