We are looking for someone to join a small, passionate team providing care and support to a male in his twenties with cerebral palsy who lives with his family in his own home.
- Average 39 hours per week (over a 10-week Rota period).
- 5 long weekends off in 10 (Fri, Sat, Sun & Mon) excludes team cover.
- Shifts are 48.5 hrs starting at 09:00 with some lone-working and sleeping nights.
- All rotas published and available in advance.

**What we are looking for**:
Minimum 2 years’ carer experience in the last 5 years (professional or providing care for a relative or loved one).
Offer a regular and reliable helping hand throughout the day.
You need to be physically able and willing to undertake various activities such as swimming, art, theatre visits and walking.
Flexibility and ability to cover for others in the team is essential to the role. You will be providing care and support on a rota basis covering every day of the week including weekends and bank holidays.
Live within 30 miles of Norton Fitzwarren, Taunton.
**Job description**:
Chris needs support with his daily routine and social activities as he keeps busy with art & crafts, shopping, café, theatre, listening to music, day trips, watering plants in his garden, reading and needs help having a fun day. He likes to try new activities and new foods.
Chris lives in his own well equipped adapted home and needs support, care and company.
Chris is equally happy indoors and also loves to spend time outdoors with you steering one of his wheelchairs. Eating is a social occasion for Chris, he needs help at mealtimes while you are both eating. He loves most foods and especially puddings with custard.
**Responsibilities**:
Provide care and support to Chris and help him enjoy his life by helping him access places, events and activities he cannot manage on his own
Provide personal care, dressing and physiotherapy
Drive Chris to appointments/activities in his wheelchair accessible vehicle
Reading with Chris from his selection of books
Prepare meals and drinks, cleaning equipment, light housekeeping
Most of the tasks are doing the sort of practical, day-to-day things that anyone else does, but which Chris can't
