Head Housekeeper

Achnagairn Estate is a five-star award winning exclusive use venue. It's a venue bursting with personality, and while our core business is weddings and events, our beautiful, very unique 68 bedrooms are a very important part of our offer.

We are looking for a Head Housekeeper to job share and join our team initially on a maternity leave cover. We have two Head Housekeepers who job share. We are looking for someone close to full time but can offer flexible working hours to suit your lifestyle.

We are looking for someone with experience in running a housekeeping team, with excellent communication skills, and a passion for high standards. We have a kind and supportive team and are also looking for someone who would be a good fit

Our events are weddings and high-end corporate groups in Achnagairn Castle, but we also have leisure travellers through the summer, staying in our 'Mini Manors' (five and six-bedroom 5* self-catering properties on the estate).

We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible but can be flexible on this too.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- To manage the housekeeping and oversight of the maintenance to cover all the needs of the business.
- To play a key role in the recruitment, induction, and development of the housekeeping team.
- To uphold the reputation of the business by maintaining high personal standards, projecting a warm and welcoming attitude towards the owners, clients & their guests, colleagues and business partners at all times.
- To set housekeeping standards and to lead the house team in maintaining five-star standards of housekeeping.
- To set and communicate relevant staff rotas to meet the business needs and budgets.
- To provide an “extraordinary level of service” to all our internal and external customers
- To deliver and record all staff training and ensure that training records are kept up to date.
- To support the delivery of an effective and accurate system of stock control for all housekeeping operations.
- To help drive profit margins through cost control and delivery of performance targets for the business.
- To ensure that all legislative requirements for the operation are being fully always complied with.
- To ensure a high level of security of all housekeeping materials and stock.
- To work in partnership with all senior management, owners, and the sales team to meet business targets. (For example, ensuring that communication with the sales team is smooth such that the property is well presented when shown to potential clients)
- To attend regular operational management team meetings
- To communicate senior management and with the owners on all operational matters and to inform them of any relevant difficulties on key aspects of the business (e.g., incidents, accidents etc)
