A new position has arisen with the accounting team at Edinburgh Trams, for a Finance Assistant - Accounts. Working with the Finance Manager you would have responsibility for assisting with the day to day accounting tasks and procedures of the company, for example the Sales and Purchase ledger. The successful applicant should have a high level of numerical accuracy, strong IT skills specifically excel and have experience with accounting packages.

**Key** Responsibilities**
- Working closely with Finance Manager on day to day accounting functions
- Contribute towards the processing of the period accounts
- Cash book maintenance
- Revenue and commercial data reporting
- Sales and Purchase ledger processing
- Cash room duties
- Daily audit checks associated with revenue protection
- Prepare and issue purchase orders for external suppliers
- **Supporting Events and providing general support to other teams within the business where appropriate and when required**:

- **Adhoc duties as per business requirements**

**Requirement Needed**:

- Background in accounting with a recognised qualification or several years experience in this area
- Experience in accounting packages
- Excellent excel, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently
- Contribute to being a team player
