We operate over five sites including the Bramley Hill Day Centre, Jean Garwood House Care Home, and Rutherford School, as well as two charity shops.

**The Role**:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Officer to join our dedicated team. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with our HR consultant, you will provide comprehensive HR support across all areas of the foundation, helping to foster a positive working environment and ensuring best practices in people management and compliance

**Salary**: £18, 540 per annum (£30,900 FTE).

Hours: 21 hours (3 days per week) to be worked flexibly.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide guidance and support on HR policies and procedures across the organisation.
- Assist and oversee recruitment efforts and onboarding processes.
- Assist and communicate any payroll discrepancies with the Finance Manager.
- Maintain accurate HR records using BrightHR and ensure compliance with employment legislation.
- Support staff welfare, development, and performance management.
- Coordinate and deliver HR-related training and development initiatives.
- Lead or assist with disciplinary and grievance procedures.
- Collaborate with managers to ensure effective workforce planning.
- Monitor HR metrics and prepare reports for senior management, including but not limited to exit interviews, attrition rates, learning and development, grievances, disciplinaries and employee engagement.
- Contribute to the development and updating of employee policies and procedures in the handbook.
- Provide training and support to managers and staff where appropriate, developing their capacity to utilise the procedures correctly and effectively.
- Ensuring compliance with GDPR in relation to verbal, written and computerised material handled in the HR department.
- Using tact and diplomacy in any verbal sharing of information confidential to HR, both internally and externally.
- Support specific projects and all departments to advance the Foundation such as, but not limited to digitalisation, learning and development of our leadership team and engagement.
- Maintain comprehensive employee records and complete administrative tasks to ensure data accuracy for reporting.
- Assist with reference requests, DBS checks, and Right to Work checks throughout the organisation, ensuring all screening checks are up to date and recorded on the SCR.
- Demonstrate and promote Garwood’s core values (we are inclusive, we celebrate, we are progressive, we listen) in all aspects of work and interaction with staff, service users, and the wider community

The duties and responsibilities outlined above are not exhaustive. The postholder may be required to undertake additional tasks sand responsibilities, as reasonably required, in line with the needs to organisation and the evolving nature of the role.

**Person Specification**
- CIPD qualified or working towards is desirable, but not essential.
- Proven experience in an HR role at an assistant or officer level.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Proficient in HR systems and Microsoft Office.
