We are looking for a **Medical Affairs Specialist** to join us in our **UK & Ireland** team, based in our Slough, UK offices

**About the role**

You will actively contribute towards the provision of a front-line evaluated medical information service by providing responses to technical medical information enquiries. Collaborate with the global medical information team in the creation and maintenance of global and locally approved standard response documents. Participate in therapy area-related activities and contribute/lead projects such as clinical, educational and medical writing activities. Support the medical function of UK & Ireland and key stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable codes and practices, including the review and approval of promotional and non-promotional materials.

You will report into the UK & Ireland Medical Information Lead

**What you’ll do**
- Respond to technical (second line) medical information questions from healthcare professionals and internal customers by presenting high quality information using in-house and external sources.
- Collaborate with the global medical information team in the creation of global response documents and localization of these documents for use in BII.
- Contribute and champion high standards to the review and approval of both promotional and non-promotional material produced in support of marketed products in accordance with the ABPI/PAGB/IPHA Codes of Conduct.
- Develop and maintain specific expertise for specialist products and assume responsibility for the provision of medical information support for these (primarily across Neurology, Immunology and Bone therapeutic areas).
- Management of medical information enquiries for mature/locally approved products, and support across other therapeutic areas as needed.
- Support the first line medical information service and out of hours vendor by providing product expertise and training.

**Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills**:

- Bachelor's degree (life sciences or pharmacy)
- A good understanding of the requirements of the ABPI Code of Practice as well as experience of medical information in the pharmaceutical industry or a hospital setting.
- Experience of analysing and summarising biomedical data from published papers where attention to detail is necessary.
- Experience of working in a transversal environment where collaboration within the medical team and with other teams (e.g. sales, marketing) is necessary.
