**Job Summary**:
Mind in Furness is an independent local mental health charity affiliated to national Mind and providing a range of services from the William Bingley Centre on School Street and other locations in Furness, Ulverston & Millom

Alongside the staff and volunteer team the Peer Support Mentor will provide support and deliver a range of interventions or activities, to individuals who have experienced episodes of poor mental health.

You will guide volunteers and participants using the Mind “Peer Support in the Community Toolkit” to develop existing and new peer support group activities.

You will participate in the operation and development of Mind in Furness’ extended opening hours through peer support activities. Provisional hours will be on a rota basis between 13:00-22:30 in evenings & 12 noon to 17:00 at weekends.

Hours may vary as the new service develops

**Key Responsibilities**:
You will:

- Work alongside other staff and volunteers as part of the Mind in Furness Support team to provide direct and indirect support to those accessing Mind in Furness Peer Support Activities and Evening Crisis Café sessions.
- Complete wellbeing assessments with clients and jointly agree goals to be achieved and specific targets including deadlines.
- Deliver with volunteers, one to one and group peer support sessions for the clients accessing Mind in Furness
- Facilitate referrals to other Mind in Furness services & external partners
- Provide ongoing support to clients including using Recovery Star and SMART Action planning to monitor progress and conduct review meetings.
- Promote the service and represent Mind in Furness through organising/attending events, networking, the media (including social media) and producing and distributing publicity materials as directed by the Peer Support & Community Engagement Co-ordinator.
- Work alongside the Volunteer Support Worker to train and support volunteers to provide one to one and/or group peer support
- Ensure all marketing and communication activities are conducted in accordance with Mind policies including branding guidelines
- Follow policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants, volunteers and colleagues.
- Participate in management supervision and actively contribute to Team Meetings
- Undertake any other reasonable duties to ensure the successful delivery of the project

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 3 months
Part-time hours: 6 - 35 per week

**Salary**: £10.62 per hour
