We are looking for an enthusiastic communications professional to further develop and deliver the communications strategy for the Edinburgh Infectious Diseases network.

**The Opportunity**:
Edinburgh Infectious Diseases is a network of over 800 researchers across the University of Edinburgh and associated institutions in Edinburgh, whose research focuses on infectious disease - from basic and clinical sciences to social science and ethics. We are now developing our activities to ensure that we effectively communicate with a wide range of audiences, both internal and external. This role has three main components: (1) to use web and social media platforms to highlight research from the network; (2) to support EID members to develop and deliver activities for public engagement with research and (3) to assist other members of the EID administrative team in organisation of meetings and workshops.

**Your skills and attributes for success**:

- Excellent communication skills with wide variety of audience, from senior academics to the general public
- Writer with experience of researching and generating written communications materials for a range of platforms, including websites and social media e.g. twitter
- Experience in website development and editing
- Experience in developing and evaluating public engagement activities
- Enthusiasm
