**Family Liaison Officer**

**(Fixed 1 year contract with possible extension pending on funding)**

**HOURS OF WORK **Mon - Thurs 9am-5pm Fri - 9am-2pm

**LOCATION **Lisburn

**SALARY **£23,00-£25,000 per annum

**JOB PURPOSE**

To support families with a high level of need to develop capacity to reach full potential by addressing the employment, educational, training, health, and socio-economic issues that impact on their lives. Each family will have a person in the NEET category.

Family Liaison officer’s role will be to work with a family for a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 12 months depending on the issues identified within their action plan and their progress against their agreed targets.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Meet or exceed targets, KPIs and success indicators that are set and agreed.
- To carry out a comprehensive diagnostic with each family and design a tailored programme of support and activities.
- To provide a family support/ referral service (support to address health, social and economic issues)
- Referral to specialist support services
- Family learning workshops -workshops aimed at enhancing family’s ability to address barriers such as relationships, finance, running a home, unemployment, behavioural problems, health issues.
- Manage the customer journey undertaking induction, assessment, and Personal Progression Plan activities with clients.
- Manage a caseload of clients, reviewing their progress towards employment and maintaining engagement to achieve personal and team targets.
- Identify clients’ needs and signpost to 3rd party provision where appropriate.
- Source and manage working relationships with 3rd party providers, complementary provision, and employers.
- Deliver employability interventions on a one to one or group basis including workshop sessions.
- Liaise with both clients and employers to identify any in-employment support required.
- Carry out job-search support to individuals and groups to achieve the target number of employment outcomes.
- Advise, guide, and match clients to employment opportunities.
- Work with Employability Training Officers to establish appropriate employment or placements for customers.
- Support in the process of evaluating the experience of individuals and employers on completing or leaving a programme. Identify success stories and collect appropriate information to use in promotional material.
- Communicate effectively with clients who have different needs, e.g., learning difficulties, mental health problems, ex-offenders etc.
- Manage own professional development and undertake necessary training as identified in performance reviews.
- Always adhere to the company’s policies and procedures, including but not limited to Equal Opportunities, Quality, Health and Safety, Information Security, and IT.
- Compliance with ‘live’ self-evaluation processes and contribution to quality improvement planning to ISEF standards
- Ensure a professional and positive working relationship with internal and external customers and continually strive to exceed customer expectations.

**PERSONAL SPECIFICATION**

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**

**Essential**
- NVQ3 or an equivalent level qualification in Health, Education and Social Care, or another relevant discipline
- A minimum of one year experience of designing and delivering needs-led development. This includes assessing need, developing support plans, ensuring actions are implemented and reviewed on a regular basis.
**Desirable**
- Demonstrable experience in undertaking holistic assessments of family needs.
- Experience of working to and understanding Child Protection policy, procedures, and legislation.
- A qualification in counselling or career guidance or experience of working with job seekers in a counselling or career advice role.
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment responding to needs of children, young people, and families.
- Proven experience of carrying out home visits.
