solutions to address our customer’s most challenging demand for new high-performance materials that reduce weight, improve aerodynamics, and ultimately lower the total part costs for customers. The business supplies composites technologies to civil and military aircraft manufacturers which comprises the
majority of sales, with the balance of sales into various industrial markets.

Solvay Wrexham manufactures prepregs (fibres combined with resin) on multiple reinforcements as well as resin systems for infusion, resin transfer moulding systems, adhesives and potting compounds for the composites Industry. Solvay Wrexham’s products are supplied to many industries including aerospace, motorsports and high-performance automotive.

Solvay Wrexham was established in 1982 and now employs approximately 250 people in production, R&I, technical service, finance, human resources, logistics and procurement. We’re currently looking for an operator to join our R&I Process Innovation team. This is a key role in the development of our new products as well as evaluation of new manufacturing process technologies. This role will be based on our Wrexham site in our R&I department.

**Job Overview and Responsibilities**:

- Operating a pilot mixing vessel to ensure that blends of raw materials are produced to the correct quality, quantity and timescale to meet projects requirements.
- Operating a pilot roll coater to ensure that resin films are produced to the correct quality and requirements.
- Operating a pilot tape line to ensure that prepregs are produced to the correct quality and requirements.
- Operating novel and experimental processes under supervision of scientists/engineers to explore potential of new manufacturing processes.
- Working in a safe manner in adherence with company policies.
- Maintaining the standards required in housekeeping on the shop floor.
- Performing additional tasks and supporting other R&I and Process Engineering departments as required.
- Recording experimental observations in laboratory notebooks and communicating to project leaders
- Participating in any company initiatives as required.
- Ability to work flexible hours when required

**Education and Experience**:

- Experience of working in an environment where potentially hazardous chemicals are handled
- Experience of working in a roll-to-roll manufacturing environment
- GCSE (minimum C in English, Match, Sciences) or above
- Knowledge of COSHH/risk assessments

**Skills**:

- A strong commitment to all aspects of safety
- A good eye for detail and be able to follow written recipes & procedures
- Must be able to accurately and concisely record experimental results
- Flexibility in working hours
- Self-motivated
- Able to work alone, or as part of a team
- Good communication skills.
- A positive attitude and the ability to troubleshoot problems
