The Commercial & Industrial property sector has outperformed retail and office sectors for rental growth over the last 20 years. This market trend has driven a significant demand, in particular for multi-let Commercial and Industrial assets. A portfolio located near urban areas with a variety of sizes, units are let to multiple occupiers and provide affordable space for a wide range of service lines mainly associated with high-tech manufacturing, wholesale, transport and construction. With animpressive portfolio in excess of 1000 units, we are looking for a Commercial Building Surveyor to help provide a range of services on assets strategically focussed across the East of England, Midlands and the South East. As a key part of the team you will help in the upkeep of a asset portfolio. Ensuring all tenants have met their repair obligations at the end of their leases. Working directly with the end client, you will carry out general building and condition surveyson their tenanted portfolio. These will typically be towards the end of a long lease. You will also assist in any remediation, redecoration and maintenance projects to help reduce void property turnaround. You should therefore be an experienced building surveyor who is capable of working on a client portfolio with a MRICS qualification and good knowledge of building maintenance. You should be competent with report writing and creating schedules of conditionswith the ability to work independently whilst visiting the sites. In addition, some experience in minor works project management and experience working on a mixed use commercial or industrial portfolio would be a distinct advantage. Due to the nature of the portfolio, you will need to be comfortable surveying occupied premises and be prepared to travel to cover a large portfolio. In return there will be some hybrid and remote working as necessary but the team does meet regularly intheir head office. We would also expect you to be "client facing", thorough, professional, highly organised and self motivated with the ability to work as part of small but rapidly expanding surveying team.
