This includes learning about the Hospital and all the core skills you will need such as preventing infection and how to provide direct care. You will have some learning with registered nurses and other days specifically for HCSW. For anyone new to care, we then offer two weeks support working alongside an experienced HCSW in clinical practice, learning the role before being included in the staffing numbers. We will support you to achieve a Care Certificate during your first few months if you do not already have one. The care certificate takes you through 15 different standards such as patient confidentiality and nutrition and hydration.
