Head of Operations

Hilldale Housing Association is a small organisation that grew up in the North West but now has a national reach. Through operating the long lease model, we now have 1000 Tenancies in over 160 properties in management. We are part of the Change Housing Group that aims to support and develop smaller organisations by improving and growing their businesses and housing solutions to enable more people to live independently.

We are currently transforming the business to enable it to address ongoing challenges but also to strengthen it to facilitate further growth and investment in Tenants homes and services.

We are looking for a Head of Operations to join our team. You will need to be someone that can bring with them a positive can-do attitude, is both a leader and a team player, has great communication skills and can further develop our approach to meeting Regulatory requirements and performance data management.

We need someone that does not shy away from challenges, isn’t afraid to work hard and can be trusted by the team and our partners to do the right thing for our Tenants. You will need to build on our existing relationships and create new ones as we continue to grow. This role is important to us as like every business we have a reliance on the data we hold and how we use this to help us to manage the business and provide information externally to the Regulator and our Head landlords.

In the last 2 years Hilldale we have also gone through significant change and challenge which has built a firm foundation for the future. Our focus now is to use that platform to develop a more efficient and high-quality service by developing our people but also by listening and responding to the needs of Tenants and those we work closely with.

This is a key role in the business and as such you will be a member of the Leadership Team specialising and advising on matters relating to the key operational areas of the business. As part of the team, you will hold collective responsibility for delivery of the Business Strategy and all operational targets. You will lead by example living the values and behaviours that have been agreed.

As a small organisation and team, we rely heavily on each other and like the rest of the team you will find yourself getting involved in all areas of the business. As Head of Operations you will:

- Deputise for the Managing Director and other members of LT as required.
- Attend Board and provide performance information
- Lead on data and information which the business requires to meet its operational, governance and regulatory requirements alongside a range of projects that have been identified in the transformational plan.
- Work across the wider Change group with colleagues on large, identified projects but also on day-to-day operational matters as and when required to.
- Lead on funder relationships about asset information returns and other information they request.
- Lead on the Voids project ensuring that targets are met, and the system updates enable management decisions to be made on a weekly basis and provide the reports and narrative to the group LT and the Hilldale Board.
- Lead on Consumer standards carrying out the action plan from the self-assessment and ensuring a Compliant position can be evidenced.
- Be responsible for day-to-day liaison with our funders and head landlords ensuring that all parties are meeting their obligations, this to include where we have management agreements in place.
- Work closely with the Head of Housing and support them in the delivery of an effective service to our Tenants and the Care providers that operate from our schemes.

You should have experience of working in partnership arrangements with local authorities, health authorities and care providers

This is a hybrid role where you will usually work 3 days a week at home and 2 days in the office near Salford Quays. You may be required to work away from home from time to time in line with the needs of the business.
