A well-known established blue chip business based in Luton are looking to appoint a Financial Accountant. The successful applicant will be a key member of the Finance team and take ownership of the management and statutory accounts along with managing thefixed assets.

**Responsibilities**:

- Statutory Accounts preparation and ownership of the relationships between our audit and tax compliance partners to ensure a smooth process of submission of the accounts and tax returns
- Act as a business partner for the team and assist in preparing business cases for investment opportunities
- Maintain the weekly cashflow forecast, ensuring adequate cash reserves to fulfil short and medium term liabilities
- Monthly review of balance sheet reconciliations prepared by other members of the team, ensuring accuracy across the management and statutory accounts
- To prepare the monthly management accounts and consolidation for reporting purposes to the bank and shareholders
- Calculation of the annual PSA submission
- Preparation of budgets relating to Fixed Asset and Fixed costs codes and subsequent monitoring of costs against these budgets, taking into account bank covenants
- Management of the Fixed Asset register and Depreciation charge
- Review of Impairment and Onerous Lease charges periodically as required
- Ownership of the rent, rates and service charge general ledger codes along with relevant analysis to aid decision making
- Management of property revenue costs for repairs and maintenance
- To calculate and submit the quarterly VAT and GST returns for the UK and Jersey
- Assist in ad hoc projects and continuous improvement projects for the business as required
- Coaching of more junior members of the team as required with technical accounting areas
- Creation and maintenance of balance sheet reconciliations for fixed asset and fixed cost codes
- Continuously monitor any accounting standard changes and review the impact these may have on the business in the future, implementing any new additional controls and processes
- ACCA OR ACA Qualified
- Industry/Practice Background
- Strong technical accounting experience
- Good Excel and ERP systems skills
