Overview:
The role is responsible for monitoring machinery, making basic adjustments when necessary whilst maintaining optimum product quality specifications and adhering to all health and safety and hygiene procedures. To assist with operator duties as required and to help improve operator skills through individual training.
Qualifications:
- Capable of working on their own or as part of a team with relatively little supervision using their own initiative.
- Enthusiastic with a positive attitude and a willingness to listen and learn.
- Flexible with the ability of working to high standards of accuracy.
- Prepared to work to tight but achievable schedules where meeting deadlines will be critical.
- Basic understanding of the Extrusion Blow Moulding Process (desirable).
**Responsibilities**:
**Key Performance measures**: Maintaining safe working environment.
Quality of product produced.
Housekeeping within the section.
Maintain machine efficiency.
**Health and Safety**:To work in a safe manner and ensure that others also work in a safe manner, ensuring compliance at all times, with company policy and procedures regarding health & safety, standards of product quality, housekeeping and hygiene.
**Main Tasks**:
Competent in all operator level 1 and 2 duties plus:
- Stop and start machinery in process and all ancillary equipment.
- Stop and start extrusion in process.
- Complete colour changes.
- Monitor, maintain and adjust material levels.
- Regular cleaning of hoppers and vacuum filters.
- Ability to work on all grinders.
- Perform set daily quality and safety checks.
- Start machines up from cold and complete full measurement of first - off product to specification.
- Conduct short term and long term shut downs.
- Clean pins and dyes.
- Basic adjustments of machinery movements and mechanics.
- Basic timer adjustments.
- Carry out blow pin services.
- Basic adjustments of parison programmers.
- Problem process analysis and solving.
