We are urgently seeking an experienced and skilled **Finance Manager** to provide vision, direction and leadership to facilitate the delivery of a high quality finance service for our local government clients based in Rochdale.
The **Finance Manager**will lead and develop the finance team initiating and driving improvements, creating enthusiasm for change and encouraging enterprise and innovation.
They will take responsibility for managing the delivery of accurate and robust financial information to support the statutory and business critical financial functions, including Budget Setting, Budget Monitoring, Closure of Accounts and input into key Serviceand wider financial developments.
- Hold a full CIPFA qualification or equivalent qualification recognised by CCAB
- Have significant senior financial management experience within a large complex organisation
- Significant experience of working in a finance function within the public sector, preferably within Local Government
- A detailed understanding of the current legislation and accounting arrangements relevant to Local Government.
- Experience of leading and developing the finance team by initiating and driving improvements, creating enthusiasm for change and encouraging enterprise and innovation and delegating and empowering staff.
- Evidence of experience in interpreting highly complex information and developing and delivering training and guidance around associated financial issues.
