Management Accountant

An exciting opportunity has arisen within a market leading organisation based near Maidenhead. They are seeking a Management Accountant currently studying towards a professional qualification to join their head office finance team. You will support the businessdecision making process by providing insightful analysis of cost variances against budgets and forecasts across all operational expenditure, and help maintain financial control of the Balance Sheet.

**Responsibilities**:

- Production of Monthly management accounts packs
- Production of monthly cost tracking reports with comparison to target.
- Reconciliation of balance sheet and profit and loss ledger accounts, with collation and production of monthly Balance Sheet File.
- Preparation and posting of month end accruals and prepayments, together with correctional journals.
- Maintaining Fixed Assets Register
- Production of monthly Capital Expenditure report for submission to the Board.
- Assisting the Network Cost Controller with analysis, month end accounting routines.
- Monthly cost review meetings with key internal customers at all levels.
- Ad-hoc raising of purchase orders as needed to support the business.
- Investigation of erroneous postings on the Trial Balance and correctional journals.
- Assist with the production of the Budgets and Forecasts on an annual/quarterly basis.
- Assist year-end tax analysis in accordance with Finance Policy and process and Statutory Returns for the company.
- Assist the Internal & External Auditors as directed.
- Preparation of budget and forecast costs for upload into the Navision finance system.
- Assisting end users with P2P purchase ordering system queries.
- Reconcile and confirm all intercompany balances on a monthly basis.
- Intercompany Loan & Interest - Check Interest calculation, accrued interest journal posting.
- Maintain Tax Analysis File for Inspection.
- Produce detailed tax analysis for external tax advisor to use as the basis of the tax computation.
- Assist as required with ad-hoc projects for example:

- Tracking the costs incurred, both operational and capex, in the move to the new depotl, and comparing to expected costs.
- Assisting both internal and external auditors.
- Occasional travel to depots is encouraged to help gain an operational understanding but will not be required on a frequent basis.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum part qualified 2 Years completed ACCA/CIMA/AAT individuals with experience of managing the month end function to Trial Balance stage and preparing draft Management Reports.
- Good experience of Excel
- to VLOOKUP and pivot table level is essential to this role
- Must be computer literate with knowledge of MS Word, Outlook & Excel
- Aptitude for picking up new IT systems.
- Proven experience working within accountancy or transactional finance.
- Ability to reconcile complex accounts and have excellent attention to detail.
- Prior experience using Navision would be advantageous.
- Analytical skills - able to investigate and analyse data, identify trends and anomalies and help determine their cause.
- Self-Motivated-able to work with mínimal supervision, & to turn work around quickly, whilst still maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Typically we would estimate that it would take between 1-2 years' accounting experience or prior experience working within a Transactional Finance function to acquire the skills required for this role.

- Ideally a graduate with an Accounting/Finance related degree with 1-2 years relevant finance or accounting experience.
