We are now looking to recruit a Finishing Operative to work as part of the Night Shift team (Monday to Thursday )

**Finishing Operative (Night Shift - 48 hours)**
**Monday to Thursday: 18:00- 06:00**

**Main Role**

**To operate finishing machinery, ensuring that fabrics are finished to the highest possible quality standards.**

**Key Tasks**
- Run the finishing machines to the correct settings and for the best possible efficiency for production:

- Dry finishing: pressing, cropping & rolling and run the Airo machine
- Wet finishing: milling, scouring & wet into dry on the Stenter machine
- Follow work instructions and always be safety conscious
- Check during running for faults or issues with the fabric and report anything found to the Finishing Manager
- Label up the pieces with the relevant batch number and place into carts ready for inspection
- Operatives are responsible for cleaning the machinery. This is a vital part of the finishing processes, to ensure that machines and therefore the fabric are kept clean
- Ensure good housekeeping; assist with maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the finishing department
- The role requires working to ISO 9001 & 14001 standards (full training will be provided).

**Previous Experience**:

- Previous experience working in a Finishing department would be desirable
- Other Textile and / or manufacturing experience would be beneficial

**Skills/competencies**:

- Use common sense to report faults and issues
- Keen attention to detail
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Manual handling & lifting are constant in the role & therefore all applicants must be physically fit and be comfortable being on their feet throughout the shift.
