Shift Chargehand

**Hours**: As this is a 24/7 site you are required to work a shift pattern which will include shifts covering nights, weekends and bank holidays

**Job purpose**:
The Shift Chargehand should ensure that the day to day running of the operation is safe, on quality and on time to fulfil customer demands as well providing leadership for the operators on duty.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Ensure all routine checks, daily reports and sample regimes are followed
- Follow the procedures in the Safety, Quality, and Environmental systems to ensure compliance with all standards for the plant
- Ensure daily plant checks are completed, and reported on FSI
- Identify & report on areas of improvement and all safety related issues including near miss and incidents using PRIME
- Ensure there is a complete, documented and effective handover between shifts
- Ensure successful operation of the plant
- Proactively lead the site operators in the day to day delivery of operations and maintenance objectives
- Work within all statutory, regulatory and company requirements relating to SHEQ & personnel.
- When required, normally outside of normal office hours, be responsible for the safe operation of the site
- Be a permit issuer
- Complete all duties as an Authorised person on site within the Permit to Work system.
- Comply with all controls identified in operating procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Ensure contractors are working within the controls identified within the issued PTW
- Ensure adequate risk assessments and safe systems of work are completed for all activities
- Help implement and continuously develop the preventative maintenance program (CMMS) for the site
- Follow a rigorous inspection program for all equipment on site
- When required prepare and handover the process plant in a safe and suitable state for inspection and maintenance.
- In the event of an equipment breakdown, isolate, make safe and notify the site supervisor
- If needed act as Site Incident or Main Controller
- Follow all instructions given to them from the site incident controller or the site main controller
- Assist with the communication on site as requested by the site incident controller or the site main controller
- Ensure good housekeeping standards are keep on the plant
- Any other reasonable duty as identified by the ICL senior management team to satisfy business needs, within the role holders capability & with sufficient training.

Pay: £18.00-£19.00 per hour
