We're currently looking for a Finance Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis at our office located in Stockport. We pride ourselves on being a dynamic and supportive work environment where every team member has the opportunity to grow and succeed.

As a Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day financial operations of the company. This will include tasks such as processing invoices, reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. You will work closely with the finance team to ensure that all financial processes are completed accurately and efficiently.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work diligently. You should also have a good understanding of day-to-day accounting principles and be proficient in using financial software and spreadsheets.

**Responsibilities**
- Maintain accurate financial records and update accounting software (Sage).
- Assist with purchase ledger processes, including payment preparation and cashflow forecasting using provided models.
- Assist with sales ledger processes including transaction import and allocations.

Assist with asset accounting using established processes and systems.
- Updating vehicle schedules with new agreements or when ceased.
- Gathering of initial vehicle finance quotes.
- Hosting Finance House Auditors during their scheduled visits.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies.
- Bank statement reconciliation.
- Preparation of VAT returns.

**Qualifications**
- Experience as a Finance Assistant or Bookkeeper in a similar role.
- Proficient in accounting software - Sage (ideally Sage 200).
- Strong numeracy and data entry skills.
- Attention to detail and excellent organisational abilities.
- Knowledge of VAT procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- AAT qualification (or working towards it) is preferred but not essential.
- The role is based in-office Monday to Friday under an initial six-month fixed-term contract, renewable (or convertible to permanent) at the exclusive discretion of the Company._

Pay: £24,000.00-£27,500.00 per year
