This full-time post (1.0FTE) is available on an immediate start on a fixed term basis for 12 months until 31 December 2026. This role is based on Exeter’s St Luke’s campus but offers the opportunity for hybrid working - with some time on campus and some from home.
**The Post**
The Exeter Clinical Trials Unit (ExeCTU) is seeking an experienced data management professional to join its Information Systems and Data Management (ISDM) team as a **Clinical Trials Data Specialist**. The ISDM team currently consists of 8 staff members working collaboratively together, with skills in both data management and information systems. The data specialist role acts as the lead data management contact on typically 2-3 assigned trials. They are responsible for building new studies in REDCap, efficient data reporting, overseeing data management through the full study lifecycle, and communicating data management updates at team meetings. The data specialist should have a comprehensive understanding of data management principles to enable them to make informed decisions on their trials. The data specialist is usually supported by one or more data managers on each trial.

Exeter Clinical Trials Unit (ExeCTU) is a UKCRC-registered, University of Exeter supported Unit. ExeCTU works in collaboration with researchers and clinicians in the design and delivery of high quality and efficient multi-centre trials and other well-designed studies addressing important health questions to improve health and well-being. Our study portfolio includes trials in dementia, mental health, orthopaedics, emergency medicine, medicinal drugs, surgical techniques and complex interventions.
