Leek, United Kingdom SME Graduate Employment Full time

**THE BUSINESS**:
A global leader in the chemical industry, they supply to customers across the world (you don’t need to know anything about the Chemical industry at this stage, you can learn this).

**WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING**:
If you have an interest in how the supply-chain works, and enjoy working with people and data, this could be a great opportunity for you.

Graduates have previously done well in the business, and you will be encouraged and given the support to progress.

The business has some very strong administrators, who get the job done. But there is a need for someone to do a bit more on the analytical side; together with looking at processes, and thinking of ways that they can be streamlined or made more efficient.

This is where you come in.

In order to do this you will need to know how the job is done, and how the business works. So you will also have a ‘day job’ where you will be responsible for various areas, including:

- Making sure that there is enough stock at locations around the world.
- Building and maintaining relationships with customers. This will include acting as the main contact for the business, updating them on developments, and dealing with any problems that come up.
- Receiving and processing customer orders, and making sure they go out on time.
- Using data to forecast how much stock will be needed, then coordinating with internal teams to make sure it’s there in time.

The forecasting side will be particularly interesting: you’ll be looking at historical data, market trends, and customer insights to develop accurate demand forecasts. These can change, though, depending on market dynamics and customer requirements, so you’ll need to be able to adapt.

You’ll also be analysing data related to: stock levels, order fulfilment, demand planning, customer satisfaction, and supply chain efficiency. All with the aim of coming up with ideas on how things can be improved.

**WHAT YOU WILL NEED**:
Your degree should have a focus on Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or something similar.

You’ll need strong analytical skills, using data to spot patterns and identify problems and solutions.

As you are dealing with a range of people, including customers, you’ll need to be confident speaking with people, and resolving any problems that come up.

The environment can be fast-paced with deadlines to meet, so you will need to be able to manage your workload while dealing with various priorities.

If you have any knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory management, and demand forecasting techniques then that would be great, but it’s not essential.

**WHERE WILL YOU BE DOING IT**:
The location is in Leek, and is commutable from areas including Macclesfield, Stoke, Buxton, and Ashbourne. You’ll need to be within commuting distance, or easily able to relocate due to connections there.

**WHAT YOU SHOULD DO NEXT**:
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From £28,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

**Education**:

- Bachelor's (preferred)

Work Location: In person
