This role is a regional position covering the entire West Midlands Probation Region and therefore regional travel will be required as and when necessary. The post holder will report to the Regional Strategic Lead for Courts and Women, and will be responsible for the implementation of the Organisational Women’s Delivery Plan.

The role will include, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

- To drive better outcomes for women in relation to sentencing, sentence progression, opportunities in custody and the community
- To work together with PDU Heads, Deputies and Senior Probation Officer leads to develop a women centric approach.
- To chair a monthly meeting of SPO women’s leads across the region to facilitate delivery of the women’s action plan.
- To monitor and drive improved performance in relation to women.
- To contribute to the completion of the national women’s strategy business plan objectives
- To lead on learning and development for women’s teams and practitioners across the West Midlands Region
- Attendance and contribution at HMPPS National Women’s Meetings
- Attendance and contribution at local Partnership meetings.
- Contribute to the local Equality Diversity and Inclusion meetings, and implement the Equality Roadmap and Race Action plan from a women’s perspective.
- To promote the needs of women within other partnership forums i.e. Community Safety Partnerships, LCJB
- To take a lead role in the development of the Problem Solving Court Model for women.
- To lead/contribute to project management work when needed
- To work with colleagues from the Commissioning Team in establishing commercial needs and/or evaluating bids

**Overview of the job**
The Partnership & Stakeholder Lead is responsible for the development of the systems capability to build senior stakeholder relationships between the PS and other partnerships.

PS has a diverse range of programme and policy areas, most of which are delivered with other partners - this diversity can make it challenging for us to co-ordinate our activities and to avoid confusion. The job holder will not ‘control’ PS partnership and stakeholder activities, but will act as adviser to Deputy Directors and their Divisions, helping them to target their input and find the best routes through.

The role is also responsible for delivering business change partner support to PS Divisions and Deputy Directors at a regional level as directed by the System Integration Senior Manager.

**Summary**

The System Integration team will be responsible for ensuring the NPS works as effectively as possible with other delivery partners. The roles will include identifying and coordinating delivery to improve effectiveness of operations. In Wales these roles will go further than Probation - they will also include Prison / Probation integration.

**Responsibilities, Activities & Duties**

The job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities and duties:
**Partnerships & stakeholder development**
- Provide key strategic insight, to enable ministerial briefing, on effecting change and engaging key stakeholders
- Lead PS’ work on developing a professional approach to managing networks and key stakeholders in order to provide a key delivery mechanism for the PS and its relationships with Partners
- Take an authorship and commissioning role to establishing new and effective partnerships for the PS
- Develop a relationship management approach for the PS, in line with HMPPS approaches
- Experiment with new relationship management ideas and processes across the PS
- Coordinate other Divisions’ developments related to relationship management
- Co-ordinate PS’ input into cross-Whitehall processes and systems.
