.**JOB SUMMARY**
This individual is dedicated to raising awareness of the vital role unpaid carers play in our communities. Their focus is on encouraging individuals to recognise themselves as carers and empowering them to access the support they are entitled to. This will be achieved through:
- Working outreach within communities.
- Facilitation of a dedicated website.
- Improve social media engagement.
- Support the delivery of carer awareness training.
- Support online peer support sessions to connect carers with one another and foster a sense of community.
- Support marketing and communications efforts to ensure carer services are visible, accessible, and inclusive for all who need them.
This individual will work in collaboration with the Assessment and Development Worker. Co -Chairing the Communication and Engagement Subgroup of the Carers Board.
**CORE RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Support the delivery and coordinate online and in person carer awareness training to help individuals and organisations to recognise the role of a carer.
- Support the organisation by hosting online and in person peer support sessions to connect carers and provide emotional and practical support.
- Facilitate and maintain the carers’ website to ensure up-to-date, relevant, and accessible information. Linking and informing other Carers Board partners websites.
- Manage and develop social media channels to raise awareness of carer services and promote engagement.
- Provide digital support to carers, helping them access online resources, tools, and services.
- Coordinate marketing and communications efforts to increase visibility of carer services.
- Engage with hidden and hard-to-reach carer groups, including:
- Older carers
- Working carers
- Male carers
- BAME carers
- Carers living in Darwen
- Contribute content and updates to the carers’ newsletter and participate in wider carers service activities.
- Stay informed about the latest technology and digital tools to enhance service delivery and accessibility.
- Support the visibility and presence of the Carers Service within the Darwen community through outreach and local engagement.
- Work in collaboration with The Assessment and Development Worker to meet agreed targets.

- Liaise with both Adult and Children’s Social Care to increase carer awareness and increase in Carers Assessments
**OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Supervise and support volunteers to assist in delivering carer awareness, digital support, and engagement activities.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with organisational policies and data protection requirements.
- Produce and submit quarterly reports to monitor progress against targets and inform service development.
- Ensure that project funds are used appropriately and remain within the agreed budget.
**SUPERVISION AND DEVELOPMENT**
- Attend regular casework, supervision, and appraisal sessions.
- Participate in promotional and outreach activities outside the office, which may occasionally require working outside normal office hours on a flexible time basis.
- Fully engage in staff meetings, relevant sub-groups, and complete all mandatory training as required.
- Contribute proactively to the ongoing development and improvement of the Carers Service.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: £21,309.00 per year
