JOB TITLE**:Process Operator - Fermentation**

REPORTS TO: Senior Process Operator

Cultech Limited is recruiting process operator for their new state of art fermentation facility in Port Talbot.

**Functions, Duties, Tasks**:

- Fermentation manufacturing processes for probiotic bacterial production will include
- Process setup, Media make up
- Inoculation
- Harvest & centrifugation
- Formulation with cryoprotectant
- Freeze drying.
- Carry out fermentations following all implemented protocols to ensure there is no contamination.
- Understands and practices good aseptic technique and biosecurity measures.
- Perform routine, repetitive tasks with moderate to limited degree of supervision.
- Performs duties according to established SOP's, production records and company safety procedures.
- Concurrently completes documentation and follows established protocols.
- Complete cleaning tasks (sweeping, scrubbing, organizing, etc.). Maintain highest level of hygiene in the production area by regular cleaning and mopping of the floors and other contact area.
- Disinfecting ceilings, walls, floors, furniture, fixtures and equipment.
- Conducts and/or facilitates basic analytical and microbiological analysis on fermentation broth.
- Other manufacturing processes as needed.

**Basic Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 4 GCSE's with preferably an A Level or Degree in Science related studies.
- Previous fermentation experience is preferred (e.g. Brewery Brew Master, biotech fermentation, pharmaceutical fermentation, etc.).
- Must be an effective member of a team and be able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and multi-tasking.
- Must possess oral and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented

**Additional Preferences**:

- Scientific aptitude and eagerness to learning preferred.
- Previous exposure to aseptic technique and/or other lab sciences is preferred.

**Other Information**:

- Weekend and off-hour work is required.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and clean room environment apply.
- Position will require a certain amount of heavy lifting.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Weekend and shift working as Required.

**Salary**: £24,000 - £28,000 per year
