Job Purpose:
As a Health and Safety Administrator in our fast-paced manufacturing environment, you play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees. Your primary responsibility is to support the Health and Safety Manager in implementing and maintaining effective health and safety practices throughout the facility. You serve as a key point of contact for safety-related matters, assisting in the development and enforcement of safety policies and procedures while fostering a culture of safety consciousness among our workforce.

**Key Responsibilities**:
As a Health and Safety Administrator, your key responsibilities include:
Record Keeping and Data Management:
You will meticulously maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all health and safety incidents, accidents, and near-misses. Additionally, you will compile and analyse safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement, providing comprehensive reports for management review.

Compliance and Regulations:
Your role involves ensuring strict adherence to health and safety regulations, guidelines, and legal requirements relevant to the manufacturing industry. You will be responsible for regularly reviewing and updating safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments to align with changing regulations.

Training and Induction:
You will support the organization in organizing and delivering health and safety training sessions for employees and new hires. Additionally, conducting safety inductions for new employees, contractors, and visitors to the facility will be a crucial part of your responsibilities.

Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment:
Collaborating with department heads and team leaders, you will conduct regular workplace inspections to identify potential hazards and risks. Your expertise will also be utilized in developing risk assessments and implementing control measures to mitigate identified risks.

Accident Investigation:
In the event of accidents or incidents, you will actively participate in investigations to determine root causes and prevent future occurrences. Implementing corrective actions based on investigation findings will be essential to improve safety practices.

Safety Communication:
Emergency Preparedness:
Working closely with the Health and Safety Manager, you will contribute to developing and implementing emergency response plans and procedures. Regular emergency drills will be conducted to ensure preparedness and awareness among employees.

Safety Audits and Inspections:
You will play a vital role in organizing and facilitating internal and external safety audits and inspections. Your attention to detail will be instrumental in following up on audit findings and ensuring timely closure of identified non-conformities.

Safety Equipment and PPE Management:
Maintaining an inventory of safety equipment and ensuring its availability and proper functioning will be an important aspect of your role. You will also coordinate the distribution and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) across the facility.

Continuous Improvement:
Actively participating in health and safety improvement initiatives, you will drive a proactive safety culture within the organization. Your keen eye for opportunities will contribute to enhancing safety practices and efficiency within the manufacturing environment.

**Essential Skills and Qualifications**:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following:
Proven experience in a health and safety role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices applicable to the manufacturing industry.

Excellent record-keeping and data management skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence employees at all levels.

High attention to detail and ability to analyse data to identify trends and patterns.

NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification (desirable).

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
