Allstaff Professional Services are seeking an Administrator to work with our well established client based in the East Kilbride area. This is a permanent role to join a small team specialising in the import and export of goods. It is essential that you will have had 1 years previous administration experience but are interested in developing a career within logistics and freight.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Dealing with hauliers, agents, pricing teams and internal colleagues to obtain job charges.
- Liaise regularly with hauliers, overseas offices, partners, agents, and clients.
- Update systems with shipment and costing information as required.
- Customs clearance using internal systems.
- Resolve any issues during the shipping period, communicating any delays to the relevant departments.
- Actively identifying opportunities to reduce transport cost and improve margins.
- Build strong internal and external working relationships with customers, colleagues & suppliers
- Ability to confidently negotiate rates with hauliers to get the best price and service for the business
- Proactively work on identifying improvement opportunities and effectively implement any changes.
- Keeping a record of charges and current rates in place for certain customers.
- Ensure customers are invoiced in a proactive timely manner and within a certain timeframe
- Working with internal department to ensure smooth Transitioning during changing times.
- Supporting internal departments where required on daily operational tasks.
The hours of work are 9am-5.30pm with a one hour lunch.
Allstaff is operating as an Employment Agency for the supply of Permanent and Contract staff employed directly by the hirer.
**Salary**: Up to £22,000.00 per year
